Reply to a Gig Offer

Reply attend, not attend, or maybe when you receive a gig offer.

When someone is invited to a gig, they receive a gig offer. You may also hear this called a gig invitation.

The offer usually arrives by email, and it also appears on the Gixtra start page when the person opens Gixtra.

Reply options

Depending on how the booker set up the offer, you can usually reply with:

  • Attend, shown as a check mark
  • Not attend, shown as an X
  • Maybe, shown as a question mark

Choose attend if you can play or work the gig.

Choose not attend if you cannot make it.

Choose maybe if you cannot give a definitive answer yet.

When you choose maybe

If you choose maybe, Gixtra asks you to enter a reason.

This reason is important. It helps the booker understand what is going on and when they can expect a final answer.

Good examples:

  • "I need to check my work schedule. I should know by Friday."
  • "My vacation plans are not final yet. I can confirm after next weekend."
  • "I might have another gig that day. I will know tomorrow."

The booker can see your explanation next to your reply.

Change your reply

You can change your reply later if your availability changes.

For example, if you first replied maybe and later know you can attend, update your reply to attend.

Calendar behavior

If you decline a gig, it does not appear in your calendar if you use calendar sync.
